I watched this not long after it was released, but before I saw clerks, and absolutely hated it. I guess it took almost 20 years for me to get it. It's basically clerks that happens at places other than a convenience store, and with Ben Affleck trying to get it on with a lesbian. I don't think it's as good as clerks, but it's unmistakenly Kevin Smith.

If Dogma isn't Kevin Smith's best, then it has to be this one for me. While it is a bit problematic in aspects, it's forward thinking in others and you can tell it was a genuinely earnest attempt from Smith. I think it has a lot going for it.

Of the 2 movies where Ben Affleck tries to turn a lesbian, this is the vastly better option.

I'm sitting here wondering how Clerks 3 has a higher fan rating than Chasing Amy. That makes absolutely no sense. Chasing Amy is one of the first movies that put Kevin Smith on the map. Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and then Dogma. I'm not even a big Dogma fan, but I think Dogma was far better than anything he created after 2001.

While Romance isn't my favorite genre, this is definitely in my top 25. I thought Bluntman & Chronic's speech would help save the day, but Holden was just too dumb & just could not overcome his insecurities. These insecurities not only damaged his romantic relationship but his relationship with his best friend. Insecurities. We all have them, just don't let them be the reason your relationships crumble.

Good casting and fun characters, but the plot and ending are a little thin, feels like a personal experience of Kevin Smith elaborated on for an hour and a half.

Jason Lee was by far the funniest character in the film, the wrong coast joke had me ROLLING I would actually love to see if this movie could be made today considering it’s topics Shoutout the one scene of Casey Affleck
