Borderlands Ratings & Reviews
- Shaydeknight2 de abril de 2026Borderlands works best when taken as a deliberately silly action film. On that level, it's serviceable. The CGI sits around a B+, colourful and energetic but often overbearing. It's not too well done, especially when it integrates people into the special effects. The script offers a lot of game catchphrases and bits of lore, which land occasionally but rarely build momentum. Now, the film does intermittently capture the anarchic tone of the games. The problem is translation. The series thrives on the immediacy and exaggeration of a first person shooter. That energy is difficult to convert into a conventional ensemble action narrative. The film substitutes noise and quips for interactivity, and the substitution only partly works. The casting is OK overall, but Cate Blanchett is an odd choice for Lilith. She's in phenomenal shape, and she's always enjoyable to watch, but this film needed someone else. I mean, the film itself indicates the character is about forty five and Blanchett was about fifty-five at release, and the difference is visible. More importantly, she's not especially convincing in heavy action. She works better in roles where presence does most of the work. Here, they aim for something intense and gritty, and it just doesn't suit her. Several slow motion shots that go for "cool" end up highlighting the problem. She looks slightly out of her depth in the choreography, while also seeming too good for the material. That makes the performance feel split. Either she was miscast, or she was poorly directed, but the result never quite clicks. As a Saturday afternoon diversion, it's fine. Viewers unfamiliar with the games will likely accept it at face value and enjoy the spectacle. Fans, however, may find that the specific kind of chaotic fun the games provide does not survive the shift away from the FPS format. The film isn't bad, it's simply less lively than the source it imitates.
- philoer16 de marzo de 2026Cringe acting.
- nandu2u212 de febrero de 2025A bit shit
- Scott14 de diciembre de 2024I don’t really know how this was supposed to work since the fun of the game is not the writing but the novelty of picking up a wacky gun to figure out what it will do. But whatever the way forward was Eli definitely didn’t find it.
- Sean Smith26 de febrero de 2025Poor claptrap the voice was a tragedy for those of us that were fond of the games.
- Kryuz13 de marzo de 2026Not that bad but not really good.
- LBalian16 de febrero de 2026I found it very enjoyable to watch.
- MrTrivet2 de febrero de 2026Like a loot box with terrible rewards, this film exists to frustrate fans and confuse those unfamiliar with the game. What saddens me most is the abysmal casting.
- Dellvon C. Ford8 de noviembre de 2024The women carry this movie...they were awesome........I really appreciated the all or nothing approach to doing this film....

- AerwinPlex3 de octubre de 2025Absolute dogshit
- cyber451522 de marzo de 2025I was disappointed in the depth of the story but it’s good action and the characters are likable if at times wooden.
- MacBobby Chibuzor10 de diciembre de 2025It’s probably my favorite movie of Kevin Hart. The rest favorites have The Rock stealing the spotlight and Kevin being the dumb guy.
- Richard7 de diciembre de 2025Even though I never played the games, I found myself enjoying the Borderlands movie. It had a wild, chaotic energy that pulled me in, with colorful characters and over the top action that made it fun to watch. The humor and style felt exaggerated in the best way, like the film knew it was meant to be outrageous and leaned into that fully. What stood out was how accessible it was, you didn’t need to know the game’s lore to follow along. The movie delivered a mix of sci-fi adventure and comedy that worked on its own terms. For me, it was simply entertaining and I think it deserves credit for being more fun than many expected. By the time it ended, I realized it had given me exactly what I wanted: a loud, stylish ride that didn’t take itself too seriously.
