- Manuel Frangis19 de febrero de 2025I just rewatched BASEketball, and yeah, this movie is still a perfect 5 out of 5 stars for me. It’s one of those comedies that just nails ridiculous humor without trying too hard. It’s dumb, it’s over-the-top, and it absolutely works. If you love South Park-style comedy, this is exactly the kind of movie that delivers. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the heart of this film. You can tell they weren’t trying to be serious actors, and that’s what makes it so great. Their delivery, their expressions, and the way they play off each other make every joke land perfectly. Their chemistry feels effortless, and you can tell they’re just having a blast with the whole thing. The concept itself is so stupidly brilliant that it’s impossible not to love. Mixing baseball and basketball into some absurd new sport? It sounds like something two drunk guys would come up with in their driveway, and yet somehow, it actually works as a movie. The way they break down the sport, the rules, and the “psych-outs” is just comedy gold. The jokes are relentless. From the ridiculous team names to the announcers treating this nonsense like a real sport, everything is played so straight-faced that it makes it even funnier. The humor is definitely immature, but that’s exactly the point. It’s the kind of comedy that doesn’t care if it’s offensive or stupid—it just goes for the laughs, and most of the time, it lands. Even the side characters add to the fun. Whether it’s the sports commentators, the sleazy businessman trying to corrupt the league, or even little cameos from random celebrities, every scene has something hilarious happening in the background. The pacing is fast, and there’s never a dull moment. Surprisingly, the movie even has a little bit of heart. Trey and Matt’s characters actually have a solid friendship dynamic, and by the end, you’re kind of invested in them keeping BASEketball pure and not selling out. It’s not trying to be deep or meaningful, but it gives just enough emotional weight to make the ridiculousness feel even more fun. Final thoughts? BASEketball is easily one of the best stupid comedies out there. It’s a perfect mix of immature humor, sports parody, and Trey & Matt’s signature style. If you love absurd comedies that don’t take themselves seriously, this one is an absolute classic.
- mickerdoo26 de junio de 2025So delightfully ridiculous in the way only Stone and Parker can provide. Wacky sports comedy.
- Wade16 de junio de 2025This is one of the most important and beautiful movies to come from the 20th century as a whole and more movies should have Matt Stone lactating. They should be studying this in schools everywhere.
