Worth a Watch. Nothing New or Spectacular. Beautiful Scenery .

Great premise, solid momentum, and for a while it feels like it might become something sharper than the usual survival thriller. Then the ending arrives exactly where you expect it to, and whatever tension was left quietly dies. I did genuinely care about her. She is grieving, exhausted, and just trying not to get murdered. But against all common sense, I also found myself weirdly invested in the toothless lunatic chasing her. The setup has personality. It is a shame the film never quite knows what to do with it.

This movie is intense as in a cliffhanger and with a touch of "Silence of the Lambs".

Seemed okay at the start, set itself up nicely, but then totally lost its way. It's trying to be another Wolf Creek affair, minus the horror within that particular offering. I don't know why, but Gollum shows up for a moment. It's as though they couldn't quite work out how to make Taron more menacing, and so we get an out-of-place moment that had no meaningful impact beyond pulling me out of the movie, though that had happened a number of times previously. Made for an unexpectedly long 90 mins.

Okay so we watched this in the middle of the night with the lights off and my wife basically glued herself to my arm the whole time — that's how you know it's good. The plot is pretty simple: woman goes on a trip to Australia to clear her head, ends up getting hunted by a serial killer instead. Rough vacation. Charlize Theron is awesome in it and Taron Egerton plays a super creepy villain which was honestly unexpected. Some of the CGI is pretty obvious and the characters make some really dumb choices — like, stop climbing mountains, people, that's literally how you get into this mess. Bottom line: It's suspenseful, it's fun, and it'll make you never want to go hiking again. Watch it.

You will like this movie if you take it for what it is. An Action/Thriller.

I didn't completely hate it, but man does it pale in comparison to Wolf Creek.

Netflix was like "why make a fun and intriguing story, when we can instead just take every single stereotypes we can think of for thrillers and crame it into a 1h35 movie?"

    Is good

Fun movie. Reminded of Wolf Creek or Eden Lake. Worth a watch!

A michelin star turd sandwich. Opening and closing scenes like artisan sourdough, encapsulating a storyline curled out by a dog. It's like two directors were writing two different movies with a separate antagonist and protagonist. Worst part is that it would have worked if they tied the plot and character motivations to the opening scenes.

Pretty good. I don't know why such high profile actors would appear in this though. Entertaining enough.

A surprisingly good thriller/horror, following a formula we've seen many times before. Well worth a watch - excellent acting, thrilling scenes, something for adrenaline junkies. A reminder that snakes, spiders, crocs, etc aren't the most dangerous creatures in the world.

Theron grieves, Egerton hunts, the Blue Mountains do the heavy lifting. Lawrence Sher shoots the Troll Wall like a love letter, then Kormákur edits it like he’s afraid of his own footage: frantic cuts, suffocating close-ups and every wide shot abandoned before it earns anything. Theron does her own stunts; the camera refuses to trust her body. In my opinion: Alone (2020) did this with a fraction of the budget and ten times the nerve. So for me it’s a Netflix slop with a great DP and nowhere to put him.

Got strong 90's action/thriller vibes from this one. Beautiful scenery and crisp cinematography gave this a much better look and feel then most of the Netflix original movies that get churned out. The plot takes some very dark turns I wasn't expecting and at 85 minutes it keeps you engaged and doesn't overstay it's welcome. Charlize Theron proving time and time again how bad ass she is, the physicality on display throughout was very impressive. Taron Egerton's versatility across the board has been a joy to watch since his big debut in the incredible Kingsman movies onto his quirky performance in Eddie the Eagle, then his award worthy performances in Rocketman, my personal favorite role of his so far playing James Keene in Black Bird and now with his villainous turn as Ben he's proven he can do it all. I love when actors get the chance to play crazy evil characters and Taron doesn't disappoint, he went all in and rode that thin line between making Ben funny and scary to perfection. Apex isn't breaking new ground but for fans of wilderness thrillers and a scene stealing villain I think it'll keep you entertained. 👍👍 7/10
