American Psycho
American Psycho Ratings & Reviews
- Megan Cruz18 de marzo de 2025I’d write a full review but I have to return some video tapes
- rawaz107hace 23 hIt doesn’t matter if Bateman actually did those things or if he was just imagining them; The important point is that he is dangerous and damaged, but the world around him is so “violating and corrupt” that it allows room for such a person to exist and views him as a normal member.
- The Gutter Monkey23 de marzo de 2025Bateman Begins.
- Hipster ZOMBIE21 de febrero de 2025American Psycho is peak Christian Bale. A self absorbed, jealous, cranky, sadistic businessman who compares business card fonts with his friends while listening to Huey Lewis and the News. Is the film really happening? Maybe. Maybe it’s all in the wrapped mind of Bale’s Patrick Bateman character. Either way if it’s having to return video tapes or reserve a table at fancy restrauants, Patrick Bateman finds time to murder and spend his money on hookers. Who he also kills. It’s a brutal dark comedy and I’m here for it.
- CravanThePugilisthace 3 dI've seen this maybe 4 times over the years? & a shitty musical version of it (I was pretty drunk & don't remember it, just not enjoying it, which is usually the opposite when I'm drunk at musical comedies) live once... & have read the book, which is probably even better than the movie, though I consider the two quite different. Narratively fairly identical, but the tone & seriousness somehow makes me feel like I wouldn't mix the two up in my head. Either way, absolutely classic movie.
- gamer TJhace 5 dConfusing in a good way, a lot of different meanings instead of straight forward you have to search or learn about it, it’s deeper than just on the surface that’s the thrill about it.
- Sam18 de noviembre de 2025his business card sucked and his taste in business cards sucked too because paul allen's card was also dogshit
- christinav61hace 6 dWell, I didn’t really like this
- theLillyPad1 de julio de 2025Bale's early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Psycho came out in 2000, I think he really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole performance has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the movie a big boost. He's been compared to Daniel Day-Lewis, but I think Bale has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In 2000, Pressman released this; American Psycho, his most accomplished film. I think its an undisputed masterpiece. A film so memable, most people probably don't pay attention to the message. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the lack of accountability for elites and the effects of unregulated corporatism!
- Cubane7 de abril de 2026A source in M&A told me he also spends most of his time at work comparing business cards, pretending to be busy, and committing murder for fun. Film is accurate!
- illegalgamer50002 de julio de 2025wow i like psycho man guy
- SURVIVOR_BEAR green10 de marzo de 2025That’s one of the best movies of the 90s. And that’s really saying something. Christian Bale is superfluous. What else do you want out of a movie?
- ConnorR31 de octubre de 2025I hate capitalism but man do I love Patrick Bateman 😻😻
- joeowens5164 de abril de 2026It was my first time watching it, and it struck me as the kind of movie that demands a rewatch. I loved the unreliable narrator element. Bates may be a killer, he may be insane—he’s probably both—but what stayed with me most was something else. His friends, obsessed with business cards, dinner reservations, designer suits, and status, felt like the real psychos. There’s a lot more to unpack, but that was my initial takeaway.
- darsan29 de marzo de 2026"i simply am not there" holy shit i finally get the true meaning behind this film after watching it for the second time and christian bale's performance in this will always be iconic.
