Admittedly this was a first time watch for me; I've always been aware of 13 Ghosts 1960's existence, because I grew up watching the 2001 remake and overall 13 Ghosts 1960 is a fairly solid film. That has some really good special effects for that time. The acting is very good for the most part, aside from a few moments where they were hamming it up a little bit; but the young child actor was fantastic a very well done to him. Also I never knew that the the Wicked Witch of the West was in this and Margaret Hamilton I think is the name of the actress, was very good considering the short time that she was in it for.

This horror film is more of a family comedy that tries to scare us with objects levitating on strings and ghostly figures that we’re supposed to view through blue or red foil. The actors play their parts with deadly seriousness and a complete lack of emotion, and the film drags on despite its – thankfully – short running time.

The little boy is the star. The scene with the lion tamer and lion ghosts is a classic. Director puts in some humorous pauses that make the characters feel real.
