- Darvesh Singh Dhillon17 May 2026As a musical it was a great ending. There were some plot holes left like the animals, morrible, and the introduction of the witch of the east was very shallow. I still enjoyed the movie as someone who has never watched the musical or read the book and finding out about the story surrounding the wizard of oz.
- vangh110 December 2025It's hard to rate this one. I had some really good discussion after about the ways in which the movie really effectively conveys the idea that the message is so much less important than the messenger and how people already perceive them (a message that holds a lot of weight these days). And about the ways that this takes some liberties from the original 1939 movie and the technical aspects of the visuals and pacing. Usually, if a movie evokes good, interesting conversations, that's a strong indicator how much I like it. But in this case, well, yes, I liked it, but I don't feel like it resonated on that deeper level that keeps you thinking and considering for days on end after. The character development for Elpheba felt a little choppy, Glinda's wrestling with the two sides of her allegiances felt a little muddy, the songs didn't feel quite as catchy (though I loved Oz's opening verse and the verse about history in "Wonderful" and the line about living in dreams in "The Girl in the Bubble"), and while the plot feels like it had a fair amount of big moments, I feel like none of them really struck me or resonated for some reason. All in all, it was good, I enjoyed it, I just don't think it will stick with me... for good.
- Arthur Zepeda20 February 2026Wicked: For Good – My Take I’ll just say it. This is absolutely one of the best movies of the year. No question about it. The music is fantastic. The visuals are stunning. And most, and I really mean most, of the singing is downright incredible. But here’s where it stumbled for me a bit. This really could have been one solid, powerful movie. Splitting it into two parts means you have to pad things out, and you can feel it. Part Two brings in two brand new songs that were never part of the Broadway musical, and honestly, they feel like filler. When a movie has to stretch itself like that, it diminishes the overall experience, especially if you have a discerning eye and ear. Still, don’t get me wrong. It is beautiful, emotional, and hits plenty of high notes. But imagine how tight and perfect it could have been as one epic movie instead of two.
- carter288222 April 2026Wicked: For Good is a solid conclusion to this franchise. The film obviously looks absolutely gorgeous with all of the green screens and cgi and it makes you feel glad to be in this world again. The film has a big tonal shift where it’s significantly darker than the first. The cast is once again really solid here and all deliver great performances. The film fits in to the Wizard of Oz extremely well. The songs are also great, not as good as the first but still really solid. The dialogue did come off a little cringe at some points. The movie felt kind of rushed and didn’t take time for other things that were needed. The film makes a lot of characters really unlikeable and kind of takes you out of the film as well. But overall it was still a pretty solid film that I enjoyed but it is not as good as the first one.
