Snowtown Ratings & Reviews
- Kevin Ward5 September 2025Justin Kurzel’s debut is as bleak and punishing as they come. Daniel Henshall gives a chilling performance but you can really see Kurzel’s fascination with character studies leading up to horrific and historical violent events. Snowtown didn’t land quite as sharply as Nitram. I felt like Nitram was more attuned to the psychology of its subject. Snowtown, on the otherhand, has a more punishing grimness that sometimes overshadows the sense of character insight Kurzel is clearly reaching for and accomplishes a little better with Nitram. Still, it’s a really solid debut. I still need to check out his Kelly Gang feature.
- Nyxus_23 April 2025In some combination of my own stupidity and general disinterest, this movie's plot was hard to follow and, even with external supplementation, just not worth watching. Just read the Wiki page on the actual Snowtown murders.
