Oblivion Ratings & Reviews
- Toronto12217 February 2025When I first saw this movie, it was a complete surprise. An intriguing story line that sucks you in. Mix that with the beautiful scenery and Tom Cruise is in top form here.
- AikoWolf9 April 2026it was neat
- Steve Oldham23 March 2026Top Sci-fi with stunning cinematography - grab the popcorn and settle in.
- Zokkiie24 February 2026I ended up enjoying this more than I thought I would. The deserted Earth setting creates a cool, slightly haunting atmosphere, and the visuals are easily the highlight. Everything looks polished and thoughtfully designed. The story moves at a steady pace, mixing mystery with bursts of action, and it’s easy to stay invested. The soundtrack adds a lot to the tone, and the film never really drags. It might not stick with you forever, but it’s a solid, entertaining sci-fi watch.
- Billy Zane28 December 2025I remember thinking this was just okay when it first came out, although I didn’t see it in theaters. On a recent rewatch, I loved it. The visuals and score hold up beautifully, and the story lands with more weight once you know where it’s going. I enjoyed it a lot more this time and now rank it up there with Edge of Tomorrow. Thoughtful, atmospheric sci-fi that rewards a second look.
- Johan Potgieter30 October 2025If you like a good post apocalyptic sci-fi action love story, this is for you. I loved the story and will highly recommend it.
- FPSGrind21 February 2026Called the twist from the first minute of the movie. Was still pretty good and the visuals were excellent.
- ifghome7 February 2026Great movie
- Michel van de Wetering7 February 2026Great movie. Nice plot twist. Awesome action. Sci-Fi
- mickerdoo8 July 2025Layered well and complex. Unfolds nicely. The design and world rules made the story come together. Has elements of others in the genre.
- thomasrogers75329 January 2026Tom cruise is THE movie star of our lifetime, far from a perfect sci-fi movie, but man is it solid “Dream of Us.”
- Chris C22 December 2025This is a visually stunning movie, with gorgeous landscapes and scenery and the use of practical effects and visuals rather than go purely CGI makes it all the more impressive. The plot and premise feel pretty fresh compared to many other movies and there are some well-executed twists that occur, too. That said, it's also a bit slow at points and meanders occasionally. Still, this is a solid sci-fi action movie and deserves better than the initial reception it had.
- Kevin Ward3 July 2025Pretty solid dystopian sci fi flick that mixed in tons of ideas that have been done many times before, but does so in a pretty slick package. Kosinski-Cruise combo even manages to work in some aerial dogfights sequences in a canyon, that likely informed some of the work they did in Top Gun: Maverick. Much more stacked cast than I remembered. Andrea Riseborough, Morgan Freeman, Jaime Lannister, Olga Kurylenko. Entertaining family watch and slightly better than I remember it being.
- LSDionysus16 December 2025On of my favorite movies. A romance with existential questions wrapped in a sci-fi package. Great sound track too.
- makdelart12 December 2025Visually and musically, it's magnificent, but the plot is sluggish and deserves more punch.
