It is a normal day for everyone, until President of the United States James Dale (Jack Nicholson) announces Martians have been spotted circling Earth. The Martians land and a meeting is arranged, but not everything goes to plan, and the Martians seem to have other plans for Earth. Are they just misunderstood beings or do they really want to destroy all of humanity?

Revisiting this movie nearly 30 years after I first saw it in the theater., it holds up much better than I remember. Silly intentional fun.

Hilarious 😂! Lots of scenes I didn't remember. The aliens were jerks had me laughing so hard. Especially the scene when he shock the presidents hand. Or when the aliens rolled around the translator machine saying "we come in peace". A classic to watch everytime your in the mood for weird, creepy funny sci-fi.

A huge cast of well known stars have a lot of fun with this movie, and fortunately the viewer is taken along for the ride. Lots of funny memorable scenes.

Campy movie that is actually better when viewed more than once. When I firsthand the film I was expecting a movie akin to Independence Day. This movie is for people that enjoy campy 1950s style science fiction. If you enjoy the Fallout games then you will likely enjoy this movie!

Just full tilt ridiculousness. First watch was in 2023. Absurd ensemble comedy.

I completely get how this became a cult favorite. It's weird, goofy, and has a sense of humor that feels like it was made specifically for people who enjoy movies that are just a little bit off. The cast is stacked, everyone seems to understand the assignment, and the movie never loses sight of the fact that it's supposed to be fun. The more chaotic it gets, the more entertaining it becomes. At the same time, I can see why it doesn't work for everyone. The tone is all over the place, some jokes land better than others, and the story isn't exactly the main attraction. But that's kind of the point. It's a movie that succeeds more through personality than precision, and its willingness to be strange is what makes it so memorable. One of those films that's much easier to appreciate once you accept its wavelength.

Never seen until recently. Its fun, campy, and ridiculously off kilter. Expecting anything else is your fault. Its not a “bad” movie, it’s just exactly what it tried to be. Definitely a fun movie I will come back to from time to time.

Plenty of fun cameos in an irreverent, destructive tale of unprovoked invasion, sending Earth's silly little idiocracies into collective tailspins.
