Troy: The Odyssey
Directed by Tekin GirginBased on the Epic Greek Poem as sung by Homer.
- Arcorox24 October 2025This adaptation fails on nearly every level. The casting feels haphazard, with actors who seem mismatched for their roles, and the performances lack the gravitas needed to bring Homer's epic to life. The costumes look cheap and unconvincing, undermining any sense of ancient authenticity the film might have achieved. Most disappointingly, the film bears little resemblance to its source material. Rather than honoring the timeless story of Odysseus's perilous journey home, it takes bewildering liberties that strip away the narrative's power and meaning. What should be a tale of cunning, perseverance, and divine intervention becomes something unrecognizable. For fans of Homer's Odyssey or even just competent filmmaking, this is a disappointing miss that's best avoided.
