Cop Land Ratings & Reviews
- Helgrindor31 January 2026Underrated movie.
- Zokkiie22 April 2026Love this movie. I’ve seen it a few times now and it gets better every rewatch. The cast is stacked and everyone brings something to it — even the smaller roles feel memorable. Stallone is especially great because he keeps things restrained and lets the character feel worn down and real instead of trying to be larger than life. What I like most is how grounded it feels. It’s tense without overdoing it, and there’s a gritty, lived-in atmosphere that really works. It also deserves way more credit than it gets — seriously underrated for how well acted and well put together it is. That said, it can drag a little in the middle and a few scenes don’t hit as hard as they probably should. But overall, it’s still a really solid watch with a lot more depth than people give it credit for. Definitely one I keep coming back to.

- flavo4322 November 2025Cop Land is a powerful reminder that Sylvester Stallone can do far more than play Rocky or Rambo. Here he leans into a quieter, softer role as Freddy Heflin, a small-town sheriff who idolises the New York cops living in his jurisdiction. That admiration is slowly revealed as a weakness the others exploit, and Stallone’s vulnerability—his weariness, self-doubt, and aching desire to matter—anchors the whole film. It’s almost as if he’s playing against his own macho image, and it works beautifully. Surrounding him is an exceptional ensemble: Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, and others who usually lead films in their own right. Instead of competing, they meld their talents into a tense, character-driven crime drama about corruption, loyalty, and moral courage. The result is a gritty, slow-burning movie where the real action is in the choices people make, proving that understatement can be just as gripping as any shootout.
- sixx8428 October 2025Outstanding. Amazing cast, very well acted. Definitely recommended.
- cmartino19679 August 2025The movie gets a lot of hate, but its a great story with some great acting and it doesn't hurt that there are 12 Sopranos actors in it. :)
- forcedigital27 July 2025Stallone lets his body and ego go a bit and it leads to one of his best performances in a movie with a big assist from the always compelling Ray Liotta. Overall, a gripping tale of cops and corruption.
- ርልዪረ4 February 2025A fantastic cop thriller. With an understated and even underrated performance by Sylvester Stallone. The guy really can act. He gained like 60lbs for this role. He stars along side Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel. One is internal affairs and the other may be a corrupt cop. And Stallone plays a sheriff of a New Jersey town. Nicknamed "Cop Land" for all the NYPD who live there. Not only is this movie star studded but it's also a bit of a slow burn that gets hotter as it goes a long. Telling a fantastic story. There are so many layers here. I love this movie.
