"The Great Smokey Roadblock" began with an intriguing premise about mortality and the desire to control one's destiny, a story that had the potential to be emotionally resonant. However, the filmmakers seemed to lack faith in this narrative's power, opting to incorporate elements reminiscent of "Smokey and the Bandit." Unfortunately, this decision led to a muddled experience, as the film failed to commit to either direction fully.
