What happens to your near-immortal mage AFTER you save the world? Easily one of the best anime series that's come out in at least the last few years, it's a beautiful, thought-provoking... well, "journey". More so than many other fantasy adventure shows, this really feels like it could have been a D&D campaign, full of action but also side stops and humor. As others have said, it's a fairly slow show, but that's intentional and fits with how Frieren experiences things—time just doesn't happen the same for an elf. Do yourself a favor and give this a few episodes to get sucked in and then enjoy a wonderful ride.
