In the boorish city of Agrabah, kind-hearted street urchin Aladdin and Princess Jasmine fall in love, although she can only marry a prince. He and power-hungry Grand Vizier Jafar vie for a magic lamp that can fulfill their wishes.

Disney has much to apologise for but out of its renaissance period, this movie (along with Beauty and the Beast) is not one of them.
It's a snappily paced romp with strong characters and fairly good songs. Of significance though, the experimental CGI and the Fantasia levels of freedom seen with the Genie portray a passion and respect for the project that is missing from the live-action remake.
