The Magnificent Seven

Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in The Magnificent Seven. With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue, the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns. As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
It was never going to be an easy task rebooting and updating one of the most popular and greatest movies EVER (the original Magnificent Seven). A task made even harder as the Western movie has long since fallen out of favour with Cinemagoers, and in Hollywood. However this movie shows modern Cinemagoers just how good a modern Western can be, and delivers everything you could hope for. Action packed, tense and brutal in equal measure. This time though, instead of protecting Mexican Farmers from Bandits the Seven are protecting a Frontier Town from a corrupt Mining Tycoon who has his own personal Army at his disposal. This movie follows the strengths of the original, with a good cast, likeable Character's and it has some of the best action sequences and shootouts in any Western ever. After Yul Brynner, George Kennedy and Lee Van Cleef, Denzel Washington is terrific in the lead role. From meeting the gunslingers and building the team, to the gut wrenching final shootout. Is the Seven good ? . . NO, IT'S MAGNIFICENT
