It’s not for everyone. It’s slow, atmospheric and relies on imagination rather than visuals to a certain degree, but I was drawn in and enjoyed it. Fans of Hannibal, will I’m sure find it captivating, with a similar dark and sinister tone. It’s then mixed with a touch of classic horror, whilst not relying on jump scares. There are so many reference points throughout, subtle in most cases. The fear is all conjured by your own thoughts and beliefs. It asks a lot of questions, but leaves them open ended, leaving you to decide what you would do. At the root, there is also a lot that is very human, which has a habit of being even more unsettling. Not for everyone, definitely for me.
