The Bad Guys are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys, when they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do "one last job" by an all-female squad of criminals.

Bigger, Bolder and Still a Whole Lot of Fun "The Bad Guys 2" is a spirited follow-up to its predecessor, and I found myself enjoying it slightly more than the first. With a vibrant visual style, high-octane action, and a cast full of charm, it delivers what you hope for in a sequel — even if it doesn’t quite deepen the story in meaningful ways. The animation is one of the standout features. Directors Pierre Perifel and J.P. Sans retain the painterly, stylized aesthetic of the first film and dial it up: more detail in the lighting, crisper textures, and smoother motion in the set pieces. The action sequences are lively and well-choreographed, and the color palette pops in a way that makes the whole viewing experience feel fresh and playful. As for the returning cast — led by Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf — they deliver the wit and charisma you expect. Their chemistry remains strong, and there’s an added energy this time around as the story pushes them into new territory. The new characters blend in nicely without overshadowing the main crew, keeping the dynamic fun and engaging. Beneath all the surface fun, there are still a few shortcomings, though none that seriously hurt the experience. The story remains simple and focused. Some twists are easy to see coming, and a few of the jokes lean toward the overly silly side (yes, the film still can’t resist a few childish gags). The emotional beats, while genuine, don’t reach far beyond the surface, but they work well enough to give the adventure some heart. In summary, "The Bad Guys 2" is solidly entertaining, a fun ride for kids and adults alike thanks to its visual flair and comedic momentum. It may not reach for much more than good, old-fashioned fun — but within those bounds, it absolutely delivers.
