DCI Banks

Kommissarie Banks
Brilliant acting, and most importantly: sympathetic characters with excellent interplay of relationships. Fundamental to crime series is convincing police work, and it seemed pretty authentic to me. No gimmicks; convincing police superiors for once, DCI Banks is not a bundle of laughs (compared to Barnaby & Troy for example), but then hunting vicious criminals every day isn't really very funny. Gripping, human stories, but often pretty gruesome, but which murder is not gruesome? I have seen most crime series, but this stands up with "Line of Duty", "Blue Murder", "Inspector Lynley", "Dalziel and Pascoe"
