The Return

The Return
After 20 years Odysseus finally returns to Ithaca, where he finds his wife held prisoner by suitors vying to be king and his son facing death at their hands. To win back his family and all he has lost, Odysseus must rediscover his strength.
While we await Christopher Nolan’s interpretation of The Odyssey, this film offers a compelling look at the final chapters of the ancient Greek epic. Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche deliver outstanding performances, and the cinematography beautifully captures the raw, emotional journey of Odysseus returning to Ithaca. Much like Wolfgang Petersen’s Troy, the film avoids supernatural elements, instead grounding the story in gritty realism. It’s a thoughtful, human portrayal of a legendary tale - highly recommended.
