Despite its very hoaky, cheesy beginning the film gets quite serious and tense quickly after. It's not a film that's going for realism or logic but rather a near Shakespearean level of melodrama revolving around a triangular love core. The twists and emotional changes are large and sweeping. It's equally parts disturbing and also oddly comedic at times. It's an examination on how one instance of violence can completely warp a relationship and alter a person's psyche. And by the end you'll be wondering if the shallow grave might actually refer to those who are living as well.
