You know what? This film is mightily over hyped. I admit I major crushed on the female lead... and I'm a sucker for noir. And the combo of Casablanca and Miles Davis-sounding jazz made the journey go down easy. But I was never drawn into the love story or even believed it for a second. Obviously beautiful as a film could be. The lead actress was channeling Jeanne Moreau in Elevator to the Gallows -- which I'm fine with. We need more of that style of acting and beauty on the screen.
