Tultepec, Mexico is known for just one thing: fireworks. The city manufactures more than half of all fireworks made in Mexico, a good percentage of which will be set off at the small town’s annual festival for San Juan de Dios.

WOAH Diwali ain’t got nothing on this insane pyrotechnics festival. I knew I was going to experience something special with that beautiful intro. The heart stirring music and badass drum beats keeps you hooked all the way through, I wanna download the entire soundtrack. There were some truly magical scenes that had me starstruck and grinning like a kid. All the people involved in setting up this festival have massive balls of steel. The Bulls were very creatively done too. I would never personally attend an event like this because I can’t stand the smoke and I’m sure all those chemicals are terrible for the surrounding environment. However the controlled destruction and beauty of fire stirs very primal and spiritual feelings within us, it allows us to get a taste of the universe as it mimics the sparkling explosiveness of motion and creation. So I totally get why entire communities would go to dangerous and maddening extents to experience that thrill. It’s an undeniable fact that humans will forever be fascinated by the glorious spectacle of fireworks.
