feel like Arsenio when no one bothered to inform him of the deliciousness of the cheese tray. Although I wouldn't describe this movie as cheesy whatsoever, though I could understand how one might find it a bit sappy. I also saw the Amazon MGM production title come up and grew a bit uneasy. However I have to be honest and admit to feeling enthralled from the very first frames. It has the feel of those bittersweet yet still uplifting Oscar bait dramas from the 90s but without the adherence to a tired formula that marred some of the lesser examples. The dialogue is poignant and concise, the acting threads the perfect balance between melodrama and realism and the plot sticks the takeoff and landing with grace and posture.
