Myths and Legends are nothing if not stories about heroes who embody the values of their culture going out and creating order out of chaos. In a world where Disney and Errol Flynn are so influential in the genre, the Green Knight helps to remind the modern viewer exactly how horrifying and mystifying that chaos at the edges of the unknown world really was.
Dev Patel is excellent in his role, but the set and sound design is really what brings it home. A great film for anyone who loves Arthurian Legend, and almost anyone who doesn't.
