Not aged very well, this movie tries very hard to impress you with visuals, but fails to deliver it due to an aseptic way of pursuing body horror and methodical violence.
Half psychological, half philosophical/cult horror, the movie falls apart due to lack of actual substance.
The final twist ends up resulting between brilliant and comical due to his lack of real pathos.
