Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi

Once again, im going to go against the grain on a review. Ill be upfront and honest, though. This movie wasn't good. But I liked it better than its predecessor as a Star Wars story. Lets get the nitty gritty out of the way, as I think these complaints are valid despite being entangled in misogyny and the beginnings of the anti-DEI movement. What happened to Leia was weird and shouldn't have happened. The entire plot on the casino world was useless, and though it set up an inspiring moment at the end of the movie, the subsequent film/filmmakers not wanting to deal with it left it to be an open-ended and meaningless scene. Really terrible characters brought into this one, and again this is a valid criticism despite its entanglement with incels.
Now to the good. Not enough is discussed about Luke and his views on the Force. It really was the first time we were getting interesting discussions on philosophy about the Force, and it was interesting to see that this could have been a catalyst for new story telling in the franchise. But of course, many people hated that philosophy and they hated Luke. But I think this was a redeeming quality for the movie that brought back up to par with The Force Awakens. I also think that this was the last time the movies were ever going to be interesting and discussing the greyer aspects of the Force, or rather, its purpose as Entropic Nature.
Ship going lightspeed as a weapon: hated by sci fi nerds, but I dont care. Rule of cool. It can stay.
Very beautiful film, too!
