All Tess Trueheart wants is to settle down to a quiet life with her boyfriend, detective Dick Tracy. But there's something pretty rotten going on in town, with someone pretty rotten behind it, and Tracy has his hands full with the likes of villain Big Boy Caprice and with the almost irresistible Breathless Mahoney.

Love the style, it’s like a living comic book punched onto celluloid. Warren Beatty directs and stars as the square jawed detective in a world that’s pure pulp fantasy: bold colors, matte-painted skylines and villains with prosthetics so wild they feel ripped straight from Sunday strips. It’s not just stylized, it’s committed. Every frame looks like it was inked, shaded and dipped in primary paint. The cast is stacked: Al Pacino goes full goblin as Big Boy Caprice, Madonna slinks through scenes as Breathless Mahoney and the supporting rogues gallery is a prosthetic fever dream. The plot? Classic noir, corruption, romance and shootouts in alleyways, but filtered through a lens that’s more pop art than realism. It’s campy, theatrical and unapologetically cartoonish. And that’s the charm. You don’t watch Dick Tracy for subtlety, you watch it for the vibe, the visuals and the sheer audacity of turning a comic strip into a Technicolor opera.
