Il giornalista e conduttore Wallace Bryton scompare nelle foreste di Manitoba mentre sta intervistando Mr. Howe, un misterioso avventuriero con alle spalle storie incredibili e una curiosa predilezione per i trichechi. Il collega e co-conduttore Teddy Craft decide allora di rintracciarlo, facendo coppia per le ricerche con Allison, la fidanzata di Wallace.

In certain ways this is Kevin Smiths greatest triumph as a director, because he was able to get multiple excellent performances from his actors, for the stupidest plot he could come up with. The comedy comes from how absurd the concept of the movie is, and how hard everyone tries to give it credibility. This is not close to Kevins best movie, but it might be his most impressive.
