Chronicles three years of a middle-class family seemingly caught up in their daily routines, troubled only by minor incidents. Behind their apparent calm and repetitive existence, however, they're planning something much more sinister.
Dude, Haneke is scared to death of children and raising children lmao same tho
Love the way he presents the narrative. The abrupt editing is basically a staple with Haneke but you can see obviously a ton of similarities between this and 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance.
Also, I always love the natural cinematography in all of his films. This film specifically reminds me of the found-footage style from Benny’s Video and Caché but also Jeanne Dielman, 23 Commerce Quay, 1080 Brussels (kinda similar in the director’s vein / thematically too!)
Watching living things actually struggle and possibly die is always rough
What a way to end it! Love when he does titles / credits this way. Reminds me of how incredible the packaging for Caché could have been lol
Okay so is the title an actual euphemism or not bc that’s what I genuinely thought going into this film and unknowingly…you know, called it
