Den lille by Cherry Falls er et fredeligt sted, lige indtil en psykotisk seriemorder begynder at finde sine ofre blandt byens unge. Først efter at en tredje teenager er fundet brutalt myrdet, begynder morderens dagsorden at dæmre: Alle de myrdede er jomfruer! Mens byens unge hurtigt finder ud af, at der kun er ét at foretage sig, hvis de skal undgå at komme på dødslisten, tager sheriffens datter Jody, der stadig er jomfru, sagen i egen hånd. I mere end én forstand. Brittany Murphy (Sidewalks of New York) ses som sheriffens datter, Jody, mens hendes far spilles af Michael Biehn (The Art of War). Desuden medvirker Jay Mohr (Pay It Forward) i denne film, der fra start til slut er propfyldt med både humor og horror.

Haha. How have I not watched this before? The entire movie (per interview with writer Ken Selden) was premised on the idea that the final scene would be a serial killer chasing the last virgin through a teen orgy. And supposedly, director Geoffrey Wright (no, not Jeffrey Wright) shot a bunch of it, but had to cut it down to maintain an R rating.
Cherry Falls at times is really smart, but at other times it’s almost equally dumb. I’m looking at you Kenny.
This has a pretty impressive cast. Brittany Murphy is magnetic as always (further evidenced by all the adult males that perv out whenever they’re alone with her). Didn’t realize Kyle Reese himself, Michael Biehn, was in this. (He is one of said pervy adult males……also Murphy’s dad 🤢)
Jay Mohr’s has a pretty interesting character to say the least. And he’s got some junk in his trunk. There’s several other familiar faces too, that I had to look up because I didn’t know their names. I won’t list them because I don’t want to rob you of having to look them up yourself.
Solid little slasher that tries to turn some of the “rules” that Scream made famous on it’s head. It’s not quite as smart or meta as films like Scream but there’s definitely a good time in store. But, that final shot of what I’m assuming is supposed to be the titular Cherry Falls is pretty laughable. “Class Dismissed!”
