Koning Roland van de planeet Druidia probeert zijn dochter Prinses Vespa uit te huwelijken aan Prins Valium. Helaas wordt Vespa gekidnapt door de Spaceballs, die een enorme som losgeld aan Roland vragen. De koning besluit een groot geldbedrag aan Lone Star te geven om hem over te halen om Vespa te redden. Wat volgt is een parodie van een boel SF-films, vooral Star Wars.

Mel Brooks is a comedy genius, and Spaceballs is hands-down one of his funniest, most quotable movies! The way he parodies Star Wars (and pretty much all of sci-fi) is just brilliant—from Yogurt to Dark Helmet, every character is ridiculous in the best way possible. 😂
This one has always been a personal fave—probably one of the better Brooks films in my opinion. The jokes still hit after all these years, and the timing? Chef’s kiss. If you’re into clever spoofs and want something that doesn’t take itself seriously at all, Spaceballs is a must-watch. Absolute classic!
