Great cinematography! Beautifully shot. A completely different tone to the other motion pictures in the series. A must watch. A different ending to the book. Would love to know what the next chapter would be. Anthony Hopkins delivers an amazing performance, as does Julianne Moore. Gary Oldman’s Mason Verger is grotesquely on point.

Hannibal is such an evil guy he’s good. Anthony Hopkins is superb playing the role of a cultured cannibal. You wind up rooting for him over the FBI!

A tough sequel to rate. The beginning feels noticeably weaker — the calm, mysterious tone of the first film is almost completely gone in the first half. Right from the opening scene, it’s loud and action-heavy, a big shift from The Silence of the Lambs. Thankfully, it starts to find its footing later on, and by the end, the atmosphere comes much closer to what made the original so gripping. It’s not a bad film by any means, but overall it doesn’t quite reach the same level as its predecessor. Anthony Hopkins is, as always, phenomenal — radiating the same chilling calm and control that define Hannibal. The recasting of Starling actually works well, and since the story takes place years later, her development feels believable and fitting.

Better than the book (which concludes with an inexplicable and really inexcusable character turn for Clarice). Still, basically one long cat and mouse game featuring Hannibal as the mouse instead of the cat. Nice performances all around, and great direction, but the basic problem is the book itself--It's simply far inferior to Silence of the Lambs

Anthony Hopkins is back of course and on fine form. Jodie Foster is absent which is bad but instead we get Julianne Moore which is good. This time out, Ridley Scott is on board also which is even better. Leaning away from the other serial killer types, this time the film is more about Hannibal himself and his own murderous intentions (the clues in the title). He's essentially on the run of course and is being pursued by the authorities (obviously) but also by an old enemy - played here by Gary Oldman in a typically eccentric turn. Meanwhile the Clarice/Hannibal relationship is explored and developed to a certain extent.
