- Crystal Lake
A Great Addition to the Friday the 13th Universe I really enjoyed Crystal Lake. The writing was excellent, the acting was solid, and the cast was fantastic. The story was engaging, and the pacing kept things moving without feeling rushed or dragging things out. One thing I particularly appreciated was how the writers focused on telling a good story rather than pushing their own political beliefs. It felt refreshing to watch a show that trusted its audience and let the characters, story and atmosphere speak for themselves. As a longtime fan of the original Friday the 13th, I absolutely loved that the series was filmed in the same locations as the 1980 film. That added an extra layer of authenticity and nostalgia, making it feel genuinely connected to the original movie and its legacy. The horror and gore were also very well done. There was plenty to enjoy without it feeling excessive or over the top, striking a great balance between tension, brutality and storytelling. Overall, Crystal Lake delivered on almost every front for me. Great writing, great performances, a fantastic cast, a compelling story and a genuine respect for the original film. Exactly the kind of horror series I want to see more of. Highly recommended!Crystal Lake
