Give an Oscar to whoever shot the sequences with the camera, they’re nothing short of surreal, stunning, and absolutely terrifying. A truly twisted masterpiece of a film, with a very moving ending.

For one of the most important and beautiful series ever, I loved that they left it to the viewer to decide and think about whether Eleven is dead or not. PS: in my opinion, she is. There are too many inconsistencies in Mike’s account, but that’s the beautiful part, because it still gives the viewer hope and the chance to believe. Not everything has to perfectly add up. But I stick to my idea that El really is dead. Truly a wonderful and satisfying finale, full of tears and goosebumps.

But the further you go, the more it becomes truly interesting, building up to an incredible series of twists that I genuinely did not expect. A really great film, well written and well acted.

As a big Minecraft fan who has played the actual game a lot, this movie makes no sense, it’s really badly written. But the problem is at its core: how can you make a movie about such a free game, without a story, without a real enemy, without a plot, other than imagination and a sense of creativity and adventure? You can’t make a movie like that, you just can’t. And I stand by my opinion that whoever wrote this film has either never played the game or didn’t understand its true meaning and spirit at all.

So many wrong things happen, so many things without logic, so many things that seemingly make sense only for that sense to be contradicted and destroyed shortly after. It’s impossible to follow the story of this film because there’s no thread tying everything together. The only redeeming element is Elizabeth Lail, who is like a diamond in the middle of shit, and she remains an excellent actress regardless. Truly, believe me, there is absolutely no need for a second film, save the money for more worthy projects.
