Everything changes dramatically for teen-aged Veronica, when a rich businessman Andrey Kostrov comes to her town. Andrey is a former student of her father, prominent scientist Lev Serov. He has grandiose plans: he wants to implement the professor's genius scientific developments into production; it should bring his business to a fundamentally new level, but also might become a real breakthrough in science and change the course of history. Serov starts working and makes final calculations to complete the main project of his life, but all of sudden gets to the hospital with a heart attack. To the doctors' surprise, his condition gets worse sharply and soon he dies, having asked Andrey to look after his underage daughter. Veronica is shocked by the death of her father, but flatly refuses to leave for Moscow with a man she doesn't know at all. However soon she realizes that she is in serious trouble. The thing is that Andrey Kostrov involuntarily dragged her into a cruel game of big money and power. Kostrov's longtime rival, Konstantin Parmenkov, will stop at nothing to destroy him. To do this, he needs to find a notebook with the latest records of Serov, and only Veronica can help him with it.
