The cast is good, but it gets confusing, and the CGI is pretty bad—some scenes look like a video game. A few tense moments, but overall just okay.

The original had personality, charm and a very specific tone that made it memorable, all things this version struggles to recapture. Instead of building on what made the classic so good, it smooths everything out until it feels generic, safe and oddly hollow. The production looks fine, the cast does what they can and there are moments where you can see flashes of what could have worked. But the heart of the original is missing. The pacing feels stretched, the emotional beats don’t land the same way and the changes made “for modern audiences” mostly dilute the story rather than enhance it. It’s not terrible, just unnecessary, a reminder that remaking a good old movie doesn’t automatically make it better. Sometimes all you end up doing is proving how special the original really was.
