Nepřekonatelný Patrik Stewart a jeho role v roli kapitána Pickarda vtiskli seriálu novou, přemýšlivější tvář, která silně ovlivnila tvorbu DS9 a Voyageru. Méně rychlé akce, společenská temata v podtextu, humanita a vysoký mravní standard (konvergující k ideálu) členů posádky, utopistický a líbivý model uspořádání lidské společnosti budoucnosti se směrnicí, fakticky nahrazující zákon i desatero, minimální náboženský akcent, rozšíření tematických okruhů (paralelní světy, časové paradoxy...), lidstvo, které se ve vesmírném kvadrantu pozvolna stává nenásilnou dominantou, velké množství cizích ras a imperií, důstojní a mocní nepřátelé (mezi kterými vynikají Borgové, kteří rozhodně stojí za zmínku: vysoce technologická rasa kyborgizovaných organických bytostí s kolektivním vědomím), asimilující všechny ostatní a disponující technologiemi asimilovaných).
Dostupný vesmír je plný bytostí, které jsou uspořádány v jednotlivých společenských seskupeních, která se jedno od druhého výrazně liší. Každé takové seskupení má charakteristické představitele, vlastní strukturu, filosofii a osud. Napříč jednotlivými říšemi, rasami, federacemi (kam patří i lidstvo), skupinkami a jedinci to vře...
Kde se dívat na Star Trek: Nová generace
- Dario Tibay13. června 2026Star Trek: The Next Generation remains the Trek series that made the whole universe click for me. I was aware of Kirk, Spock, and the original Enterprise, but TNG was the one I actually entered through. Watching it from the Philippines, where US shows did not always arrive in neat broadcast order, gave it a slightly mythic quality. It appeared when it appeared, and somehow the Enterprise-D became familiar anyway. The show’s strength is its belief in thought as drama. Picard listens, argues, weighs principles, and treats leadership as a moral burden rather than a performance. Around him, the ensemble becomes one of science fiction television’s most comforting working families: Riker, Data, Geordi, Worf, Troi, Crusher, and the others all bringing their own forms of intelligence, awkwardness, loyalty, and damage. It has flaws, particularly in the early seasons, and some episodes are very much products of their time. But the best instalments still cut cleanly: “The Measure of a Man” for personhood, “The Best of Both Worlds” for terror and consequence, “Darmok” for language and myth, “The Inner Light” for memory and grief, and “All Good Things…” for one of television’s most graceful farewells. The Enterprise-D still feels like a place I know. A ship, yes, but also a roomful of old friends trying, week after week, to make the future less stupid. That alone is worth revisiting.
- ርልዪረ10. února 2026⋆⭒˚.⋆🖖 ⋆⭒˚.⋆ Nearly 40 years after it's debut, Star Trek: The Next Generation remains the gold standard and the benchmark for all other science fiction to come in my opinion. Following a largely weak first two seasons, the third came out of the gate swinging and it never let up. The final season seven did see a noticeable drop in quality overall, but it still provides some excellent episodes. I'm glad they stopped there when it was clear they were running out of steam. Some shows don't know when to quit, but TNG did before it truly got bad. This show has some of the best acting, best plots, most intriguing moral dilemmas, and greatest character development ever seen on television. It was really ahead of its time, and for the most part still holds up very well in 2025. As you might expect from any show with seven seasons, there are some stinker episodes among them, however when it's firing on all cylinders (which is often) I still don't believe anything made since has surpassed TNG and will be surprised if it happens any time soon. This is true science fiction TV, and an absolute must-watch for any fan of the genre. This is required viewing.
- Carson Cardoza8. září 2025i used to think Star Trek was for nerds and Star Wars was "the cool one" but this show is THE BEST space serial I have ever seen, (Sidenote I have not seen them all so be nice.) It gets emotional, funny, scary, psychological, and at times it will challenge you as a viewer, but it's a great adventure. To me this is the definitive "Star Trek" show.

However, early on I found myself frustrated by how sanitized the future felt. The near-elimination of societal flaws, the absence of money, and the often preachy tone made some episodes feel sterile and oddly unenthusiastic. The show clearly struggled to find its identity in its first two seasons. Everything changed in season three. The writing matured, the characters deepened, and moral dilemmas became more nuanced rather than instructional. From that point on, the series never looked back. Captain Picard emerged as one of television’s greatest leaders, and the ensemble finally clicked. What began unevenly grew into something extraordinary, ultimately surpassing the original series in scope and influence. The Next Generation didn’t just succeed—it launched an entire era of Star Trek television and proved the franchise could evolve far beyond its origins.
- Disent29. října 2025Timeless show that I was lucky enough to catch on late night TV as child growing up in the 80's / early 90s in Australia. I was taught lessons from this show that I needed, lessons the new Trek seems to have forgot, such as judge a person by the content of their character and not try to fill diversity quotas for the sake of it - that's racism and sexism in practice and Picard would've given a powerful eloquent speech about why that is wrong, no matter how much virtue signaling you perform.
