In each episode of this German animated series, one of the famous Classical fairy tales of the brothers Grimm is told in the magical land of Simsala. The local characters Doc Croc and Yoyo move between the story-teller and the episode cast, which they tend to help or at least inspire.

D1The Bremen Town MusiciansDoc and Yoyo meet elderly farm animals just before they find the farmer is planning to eliminate them. The alternative is for the donkey, dog, cat and, cockerel to apply for a position as street musicians in Bremen, although they lack musical talent. On the way, they bump into the wood retreat where pirates hide their looted treasure. - Little Red Riding Hood
D2Little Red Riding HoodDoc and Croc arrive just in time to prevent a wolf eating a bather. Wguile they move Little Red Riding Hood, who considers them funny but silly, the wolf steals the bather's clothes. She believes his posing as a musketeer-marquis, so she follows the road a indicates while he cleverly eats her grandmother. Doc and Croc attract a hunter to help them mount a rescue. - Table Set Yourself
D3Table Set YourselfThe book drips Doc and Yoyo on a small farm. There a mean billy goat is the farmer's darling, on whose account all three farm-boys have been chased. The duo sets out to find them, and brings them home. As craft apprentices in town, they each got a remarkable gift - a donkey who emits gold, a table which fills itself with rich meals, and a club which beats up villains. The first two get stolen, but are cleverly retrieved. Still, the triple prodigal return is quite eventful. - Faithful John
D4Faithful JohnDoc and Yoyo meet Johannes 'Hannes', the lifelong loyal servant of young King Nicholas, who is besotted since he saw a portrait with mean King Ronald's beautiful daughter, Princess Aurelia. They seduce her and hope to appease Ronald with gold, but he enlists a sorcerer to lay a triple curse on the wedding causing people to be petrified, so he can seize the country he coveted since Nicholas's wise father's rule. Hannes braves that fate during his hanging, all to save Nicholas, who then decides with Aurelia to redeem Hannes, with surprising consequences. - The Crystal Ball
D5The Crystal BallDoc and Yoyo accidentally meet three brothers, two of whom have been transformed into a whale and an eagle by a sorcerer whose captive princess they tried to free years ago. Hearing from the third brother about a crystal ball allegedly capable of weakening the sorcerer's powers, they decide to intrude his castle, presuming he keeps it there for safety. - The Blue Light
D6The Blue LightDoc and Yoyo meet private Cuno and help him escape from an oubliette by appealing to its spirit, as it's also a wish-pit. He now resumes courting Princess Rosalia, against the wicked king's desire to marry her off to a rich prince. The spirit's magic must be use repeated to win over the princess and overcome the king's opposition. - Snow White
D8Snow WhiteDoc and Yoyo arrive just when the royal hunter tell princess Snowwhite he can't go trough with the command to kill her from her wicked step-mother the queen. They accompany her fleeing into the forest, where they meet the seven dwarfs, who run a goldmine. In the palace, the hunter meets a prince who came to marry the most beautiful princess, tells him, and helps look for her. But the magical mirror told the queen, who arranges to deliver cursed gifts, the third of which finally seems to kill Snowwhite. - Sleeping Beauty
D9Sleeping BeautyThe book drops Doc Croc and Yoyo in a castle, overgrown by a thorny vine, where the entire royal court is frozen on the spot. They find out it's like that since fairy Bianca's spell on the 17th birthday party of the princess, now a sleeping beauty. Escaping by canon ball, the meet prince Bartold, who seeks her as a traveling bard, utterly in love. They help him find out the real villain is Bianca's rival, black fairy Gorgona, and fight her together. - The Six Swans
D10The Six SwansThe book drops Doc and Yoyo with six swans. Those are actually princely brothers, who regain their human form only at night. They can break the spell and regain their ancestral kingdom from usurping witch Maledivia, but only if their sister makes for each of them a sweater spangled with rare star-shaped flowers, which they must collect by day from a dangerous swamp. The witch-queen's son, Prince Wolf, wants to help them because he loves the sister, but his evil mother prefers the swan throne to him and sends her soldiers to wreck them all and the flowers. - The Two Princesses
D11The Two PrincessesDoc and Yoyo meet Falada, a talking horse which whines its mistress, a princess, was tricked by her handmaiden, who stole her magically protective handkerchief and hypnotized her, so they would trade place. The trio must convince the young king his bride is no princess, but the goose herd he spontaneously felt attracted to. - The Frog Prince
D12The Frog PrinceDoc and Yoyo meet the faithful but desperate servant of Prince Edward, whose master was changed into a frog by a witch who tricked them into a promise, which he refused to honor: choose her as his royal bride. The spell can only be broken if he gets a princess to kiss him; meanwhile, the servant remains chained to the coach. Even after hiding in a wishing well, the frog has a hard time holding the princess of his choice to her promise. - The Goose Maiden
D13The Goose MaidenThe book drops Doc and Yoyo near a prince an his way to his arranged alliance with a neighboring kingdom's princess-heiress. When he meets at night a ravishing girl, it's love at first sight, but she flees in panic, because after an hour in the full moon she changes into an unsightly goose herd. The prince gets a week's reprieve before marrying princess Alina. But he's tipped off by a palace maid to research the library, which pits him on the trace of a diabolical switch. Meanwhile he finds the girl by living up to a prophecy that she can only be won by showing abundant virtues.
