This also means that people with dementia who do not pose a danger to themselves or those around them should not simply be locked up. And so some nursing homes choose to open the door. People with dementia who go where they want as much as possible, even if they live in a nursing home. Is that possible or is it too big a risk? How do family and healthcare institutions deal with this?
