Před dvaceti lety byl popraven nejslavnější pirát všech dob Gold Rodger, který údajně schoval na Grand Line největší poklad všech dob. To odstartovalo éru pirátů. Hlavní hrdina je Monkey D. Luffy, chlapec, který v mládí snědl omylem tajuplné ovoce, které dává lidem nadlidské schopnosti. Několik let poté se Luffy vydal na moře po stopách slavného piráta, aby našel se svou novou posádkou slavný poklad One Piece. Na cestě za svými sny se Luffy a jeho přátelé dostávají do jednoho dobrodružství za druhým.
