Když se letadlo společnosti Oceanic Air během letu číslo 815 zřítí na tichomořský ostrov, musí cestující, kteří přežili, bojovat o život. Odhalují tajemství ostrova, nacházejí stopy po těch, kteří tam byli před nimi, a objevují záhadné bunkry. Je mezi nimi lékař, uprchlý trestanec, podvodník, irácký vyšetřovatel, korejský pár, obézní výherce loterie a muž, kterého ostrov vyléčil z paraplegie. Pokud chtějí zůstat naživu, musí spolupracovat. Během pobytu na ostrově však zjišťují, že za každým rohem číhá nebezpečí a záhady a že ti, o nichž si mysleli, že jim mohou věřit, se možná obrátí proti nim. I hrdinové mají svá tajemství.
