Dima Vasilev, the son of KGB General Rostovskiy, is being trained for prestigious and dangerous work abroad. However, after an accidental offense, he is sent to Leningrad, where he encounters the routine of service in the form of surveillance of foreign citizens and at some point begins to doubt whether he has chosen the right path. Pasha Ivanov is a demobilized border guard.
