Sheridan's best work. Just far enough back that the propaganda is not obvious, and fully engrossing.
Honestly kind of an absolute masterpiece in storytelling, that really captures the culture of an entire way of being - the one that got us here. Whether or not that's actually true is irrelevant, the feeling is incredibly true, and it's told through a tragic love story of the wild at heart that really hits. It's a movie told as a show, and while there's an element of soap opera to it the acting and characters are so real that it simply transcends.
1923 is a tall tale of the west. And like all tall tales it's reality lies in what it makes you feel. There's little else more real than this one.
