After a bachelor's degree in Art History and studying at the Dutch Film Academy until 1988, Pollo has directed many films, series and TV films. Since 1999 he has also been active as a creative producer and show runner in various genres: Police series, comedy and drama. With 14 series that he has set up to date, he is one of the most experienced show runners in the Netherlands. He is also active as a writer and director. The police series van Speijk, which he has created, has been remade in other countries. Pollo has participated in some of the most successful television series in the Netherlands.
