Anup Mukhopadhyay

Anup Mukhopadhyay was a four-time National Award winning sound designer and had 500 films to his credit. One of the last members of Satyajit Ray’s unit, who once famously said that sound is not just to be heard but felt as well.
The FTII alumnus and former SRFTI dean also worked with the likes of Mrinal Sen, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Goutam Ghose and Aparna Sen, received National Awards for “Uttara”, “Enough of Silence”, “Bhalo Theko” and “Iti Srikanto”. Even a day before his demise on 22 December 2023, Mukhopadhyay was busy with Sandip Ray’s “Nayan Rahasya”.
