Three aspects of Canada's most important economic resource, wood from its forests, are presented in British Columbia situations. In "Keep the Forest Green", the dangers of fire are shown, especially in the dry summer months. While many forest fires are started by natural causes, just as many are human caused, such as by campfires or carelessly tossed cigarettes. In "Man Up a Tree", the work of felling large Douglas firs as tall as two hundred fifty feet in height in a Vancouver Island logging situation are shown, most specifically the job of the tree rigger, who must climb up to near the canopy of the tree to top it before the limbless trunk is felled. And in "Trees, Pulp and Paper", the operation of a pulp and paper mill in the town of Powell River is shown, which includes an explanation of the benefit of locating such a mill in a port town.
