- TomVader12. dubna 2026I watched this again after hearing Kevin Smith's story about how this was essentially a story that he pitched for a Superman reboot when the producer insisted that Superman didn't fly, wore black, and fought a giant spider. It's a mildly fun film, but it still would have been better as a Superman story.
- Richard19. října 2025This movie gets dunked on like it stole someone’s Oscar, but come on, it’s Will Smith in a steampunk Western with gadgets, giant robots, and Kenneth Branagh hamming it up as a Confederate villain in a wheelchair. It’s loud, ridiculous, and absolutely committed to its own chaos. Kevin Kline plays both the gadget, loving sidekick and President Grant, because why not? Salma Hayek is there for charm and corsets, and the plot? Something about saving the president from a revenge driven madman with a flair for theatrical engineering. It’s not deep, it’s a theme park ride with a script. Critics called it exhausting, pointless and overproduced. But you know what? It’s fun. It’s cheesy. And it never pretends to be anything else. I bought it, I rewatched it and I still think it deserves more love,if only for the sheer spectacle. Wild Wild West is a steampunk circus with Will Smith, gadgets and unapologetic nonsense.

Píše se rok 1869 a černošský vládní agent, hrdina občanské války, James West, je na stopě generála McGratha, přezdívaného Řezník z New Liberty. Na vlastní pěst se generála snaží dopadnout také svérázný šerif a vynálezce Artemus Gordon, mistr převleků a nevídaných vynálezů. V městečku Morgan však generál oběma agentům unikne, a jako by to bylo málo, jeho mužům se podaří odvézt uneseného vědce Escobara. Prezident Grant proto oběma agentům nařídí, aby spolupracovali a zjistili kam a proč McGrath unáší americké vědce. Spolupracovat však pro oba agenty není zrovna jednoduché. Zatímco West je mužem akce, který nejprve střílí a pak se ptá, Gordon je pravým opakem, nejprve dlouho analyzuje a pak teprve zcela promyšleně jedná. Díky Gordonovým znalostem a vynálezům se agenti dostanou na stopu šíleného a nesmírně bohatého génia, jižanského veterána Arlisse Lovelesse, který ve válce přišel o polovinu těla......
