Grey Trace je pověstný tím, že jako jeden z posledních lidí dává před technologiemi přednost vlastním rukám. Jedna noc, která mu obrátí život vzhůru nohama, však tenhle přístup rázně změní. Autonehoda na noční dálnici a střet s bandou grázlů, kteří mu zavraždí přítelkyni a jeho nadosmrti zmrzačí. Greyovy vyhlídky na invalidním vozíku jsou víc než temné, dokud mu kamarád vědec nenabídne technologické vylepšení. S čipem v míše dokáže Grey nejen znovu chodit a pohybovat rukama, ale získává i další, dosud netušené možnosti. Experimentální zařízení zvané STEM totiž dokáže například i vystopovat pachatele onoho nočního přepadení a také Greyovi pomoci si to s těmi gaunery vyřídit ručně. Kdo by odolal? Grey rozhodně ne. Když však zanechá prvního z pachatelů v tratolišti krve, napadne ho, jestli by STEM neměl aspoň trochu zbrzdit. Otázka zní, jestli to půjde. A jestli to Grey vůbec chce.

The vfx never seem to poke through the veil here. So this one is a winner! Kinda shitty story since I don't get the complete, and full history of this future universe and it's general dystopia. I feel neglected... But still a really, really neat movie to wartch! If you are into movies... This is definitely, A MOVIE!

- M08Y17. července 2025Upgrade is a solid action sci-fi movie that never overstays its welcome. The premise is simple and the execution surprisingly good. The action is snappy really well put together. This is brought home by a streamlined plot and servicable performances all round. Talent really shines through on movies with such a small budget ($3 Million according to a quick google). Every single penny is on display here, the visuals are all present and correct (even if rather boring) and there is absolutely no garish CGI on display. The fight scenes have a robotic fluidity to them that you rarely see. The 4K bluray is a slight *upgrade* over the 1080p but the film lacks the cinematography to really take advantage of the format. The audio is fine.
- darsan23. června 2025"grey's not here anymore. he's in a better place... in his mind, where he wants to be. i've taken over now. a fake world is a lot less painful than the real one." goddamn this was such a wild ride, the action and the visuals are on a different level and the story had me on the edge of my seat, this is definitely one of the most underrated sci-fi films out there.
