Režie: Clint EastwoodNemilosrdně realistický pohled na americký Západ zobrazuje bývalého pistolníka a lupiče Munnyho vyrovnat se s minulostí. Již jedenáct let mlčí jeho pistole a opotřebovaný muž se snaží starat se co nejlépe o své děti a farmu na kansaské prérii. Jednoho dne je v blízkém městečku pořezána jedna z prostitutek. Pachateli jsou dva kovbojové, kteří jsou místním šerifem symbolicky „odsouzeni“ k zaplacení pokuty v podobě sedmi koní. Ostatní holky se však složí na vypsání odměny za likvidaci obou kovbojů. Značná částka donutí Schofield Kida, aby vyhledal Munnyho a požádal jej o spolupráci. Starý pistolník souhlasí pod podmínkou, že se podaří získat i jeho bývalého partnera Neda Logana. I ten odložil svou zbraň již před lety a žije s jednou Indiánkou na malé farmě. Nabízená částka přesvědčí i jeho. Šerif se snaží odradit zestárlé pistolníky od jejich záměru. Novinář Beauchamp, který sbírá materiál o životě na Západě, má nečekanou příležitost setkat se s legendárními střelci tváří v tvář.

Eastwood sews together pieces of violence and quiet dialog into a mosaic of false glory, lost youth, regret and actual honor from tattered and drunken memories, lies and self deceit. Nothing is forgiven. We all have it coming.The only integrity in the film is from the most wicked of them all. He's also the most honest.
- pipanni10. září 2025A slow and sad relapse into damnation. William Munny tries to live a new life as a family man, but is unfortunately drawn back into old (evil) habits. A great movie and an incredible performance by Clint Eastwood. Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman are also excellent, as usual.

The casting was perfect, the writing was perfect and the cinematography was quite nice too. Also this film ends an era for Eastwood being his last Western. All the accolades and awards are completely justified for this great story.
